Educational purpose — please read first

The Site provides general educational information about orthopedic sports medicine conditions, treatments, and rehabilitation. This information is not medical advice and is not a substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified health professional who knows your individual situation. Visiting or reading the Site alone does not create a physician–patient relationship.

• Your own care team’s instructions come first. The patient guides, rehabilitation protocols, and postoperative medication information on the Site are general references. Always follow the specific instructions your own surgeon and care team give you for your own procedure. If anything on the Site differs from your individual instructions, follow your individual instructions and contact your care team.
• Rehabilitation protocols are for use only under the direction of your treating team, which selects and adjusts the plan that is right for you.
• No guarantees. Descriptions of conditions, procedures, timelines, and recovery describe common patterns and options only. They do not predict any individual’s diagnosis, treatment, or result, and nothing on the Site is a promise of any particular outcome or of a return to sport or activity.

We work to keep the information accurate and current, but it is general information and may not be complete or apply to your situation.

In an emergency

The Site is not monitored and is not for emergencies. If you think you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not use the Site or the appointment-request link to report an urgent medical problem.

Appointment requests

The “Request an appointment” action takes you to Orthopedic ONE, a separate organization that handles scheduling. Any information you provide is provided to Orthopedic ONE, on its own separate website, under its own terms and privacy practices — not to this Site. This Site does not schedule appointments and does not collect what you enter on Orthopedic ONE’s site. For urgent requests, Orthopedic ONE asks that you call rather than use its online form.

Third-party links, videos, and materials

The Site links to and embeds materials that others own and control, including Orthopedic ONE, educational videos hosted on YouTube, and a manufacturer’s rehabilitation manual (linked, not hosted). These resources are provided for convenience and general education.

• We do not control those websites or materials and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices.
• A link or an embedded video is not an endorsement of any product, device, manufacturer, technique, or organization, and does not imply any relationship beyond what is stated on the Site.
• An educational video may show one technique or product; that is not a representation that the same technique or product will be used in your care.

Photography

Photographs of Dr. Blackwell appearing on the Site are used with his authorization. Other images and third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.

Names, marks, and intellectual property

Product names, organization names, logos, and other third-party marks and materials are the property of their respective owners, and their appearance does not imply endorsement or a business relationship beyond what is expressly stated. Except for those third-party marks and materials, the text and design of the Site are owned by Ryan Blackwell, MD and are protected by copyright. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference. The downloadable guides and rehabilitation-protocol PDFs are provided for patients’ personal use in connection with their own care.
